The 40mm grenade launcher is a very unique and special tool in the world of airsoft. Airsofters can launch anything from bbs to a foam rocket. It is quite interesting to me that in airsoft, a grenade launcher acts as a giant shotgun, due to the fact that it launches tons of bbs out in a single shot. In outdoor settings, the grenade launcher can launch foam rockets, which have a 15ft kill radius for most airsoft fields.
On February 9th, 2012, I had a chance to check out the new Desert Fox CQB field located in Gardena, California. Task Enforcement Training Facility is an indoor facility specifically designed for law enforcement personnel, SWAT operators, VIP protections, etc, to provide them with real world environment setting for training.
At Task Enforcement Training Facility, there are 12,000 square feet of training ground for law enforcement agencies and airsofters to train/use. There are different rooms which simulate different settings. There are rooms that simulate a classroom, a restaurant, an office, a living room, a bedroom, etc, and they are connected with hallways and corridors. There are also catwalks above all the rooms for instructors to critique trainees. For airsoft, the catwalks provide a cool and unique perspective on the game.
Last week, we received 2 prototype sniper rifles from Ares Airsoft. The one that caught my eye is the M40A5, which is the current standard issue to the United States Marine Corps Scout Snipers. The M40A5 is spring operated, however, the bolt is extremely easy to pull back.
In my opinion, the 1911 is the best pistol design ever entered into the theater of war. Most of you would agree with me that John Browning was a genius by creating the 1911 . John Browning created the 1911 pistol just in time for World War I. The 1911 (made by various manufacturers) is still in service today with various special operations groups and elite law enforcement units.
I own a Kimber Custom 1911 Tactical Law Enforcement II. It is the same one which Kimber manufactures for the Elite L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T. (Los Angles Police Department Special Weapon and Tactics) team. My 1911 operates smoothly as long as I keep it in mint condition. I absolutely enjoy shooting that gun.
There are many reasons why special operations groups, elite law enforcement units, and the fastest shooters in the world choose the good old 1911, even though it is more than a hundred years old. But the main reasons are; it is accurate, reliable, durable, smooth and simple to operate. Oh by the way, did I mention it takes the awesome .45 ACP?
Thanks to my boss, I had the chance to attend S.H.O.T. Show again this year. As you know, S.H.O.T. Show is a trade show, only for vendors, retailers, manufacturers, and media related to the shooting, hunting, and the outdoors. The show is so restrictive that even cameras are not allowed except for the press (Bloggers are included, as long as they have a media badge).
