Marq “Q” Perez
December 12, 2012
Marq is the newest addition to the Airsoft GI Marketing Team. He is very timid and quiet, but he is full of airsoft knowledge and experience. Marq has been playing airsoft for 5 years. Besides playing airsoft, Marq goes to college as a computer engineer major and likes to do tech work on his car and his own airsoft guns. Currently, Marq drives 1999 E36 BMW 323i Convertible, and he is quite a handyman himself. He can replace the fluids to as well as swap other major parts to increase the performance of his car.
Currently, Marq uses a fully custom M4, personally customized by himself. Internally, Marq put a lot of high quality parts, such as RiotSC, Modify, King Arms, Echo 1, Guarder, Hurricane, Deepfire, Bravo, G&P and Prowin. Externally, Marq chose Magpul MOE Stock, G&P buffer tube, Magpul ASAP sling adapter, tango down motor grip, Noveske Body, Daniel Defense Lite Rail, and a Noveske Amplifier. Marq assembled everything by himself, and his gun is currently chroned at 340 FPS.
Marq currently runs a BCT 3 Chest Rig for outdoor games. For indoor he usually just runs a battle belt with 2 fast magazine pouches and a dump pouch. His set up is light, fast, and agile. Taking only the necessity to the battlefield is his motto. In his mind, ounces lead to pounds, and pounds lead to pain. It is absurd to carry more than what he needs for any situations.
To give you a better understanding of Marq, I have interviewed him.
Q&A:
GITV Blog: What does the world Gangnam Style mean to you?
Marq: It’s like Hollywood style in LA, but in Korea. The song is pretty catch, gets my heart pumping.
GITV Blog: What other job did you have before prior Airsoft GI?
Marq: None! This is my first job. I am excited. It’s always been my dream to work for Airsoft GI. This is my first job, and I wanted to work for Airsoft GI for so long because I have been a loyal customer. During the time when I shopped in the store, I would always get the same friendly staff and knowledge. I wanted to transfer my given knowledge from the Airsoft GI staff to other people and maintain airsoft GI’s well known high quality customer service.
GITV Blog: Are there any hobbies beside airsoft, shooting, and your car?
Marq: Well, beside airsofting, shooting, and fixing my car, I like to play video games like Battlefield 3, Call of Duties, and Saints Row 3. Also, My favorite racing game, Midnight Club: Los Angeles.
GITV Blog: How did you get into airsoft?
Marq: My cousin took me with him to a private outdoor game. I had the time of my life. I really enjoy playing airsoft and I become more active after that.
GITV Blog: What was your first airsoft gun?
Marq: My first gun was a JG M4A1. I purchased it at Airsoft GI about 5 years ago from a sales rep name Andrew Tai. I own it till today!
GITV Blog: How long have you been playing airsoft?
Marq: About 5 years. I started back in 2007 and ever since then, I was hooked on to airsoft.
GITV Blog: If you can date any celebrities you want, who would she/he be and why?
Marq: Sandra Wong, she is an import model. She is so beautiful and has a great personality.
GITV Blog: Do you have any real firearm Experience?
Marq: Yes, I go to different outdoor shooting ranges to shoot with my uncle. The rifle of my choice is just an AR platform with a CAR 9 set up for speed shooting. My favorite handgun is the Sig 226 in .40 S&W.
GITV Blog: What is in your go-bag for zombie apocalypse or the end of the world situation?
Marq: Well lets see, I would have food, water, a P226 with TLR-1 Light, 3 magazines, 100 rounds of .40 S&W ammo, passport, ID and money. The Sig P226 is my favorite hand gun. TLR-1 Light from Streamlight is well built, durable, reliable and affordable. The .40 S&W caliber is a powerful round and I could still carry plenty of it. It is sort of the medium, between 9mm and .45 ACP.
GITV Blog: In a Zombie Apocalypse, or an end of the world situation, which person(s) would you take with you and why? Celebrities included.
Marq: That’s a no brainer! I would of course take my mom, my dad, my brother and the girl of my dream.
GITV Blog: In a Zombie Apocalypse, or an end of the world situation, which car(s) would you take with you (Money not an issue)? How would you set it up? Why?
Marq: I would take a 2012 Toyota Tundra customized to an output of 375+ horse power, with a bull guard, and never flat BF Goodrich all terrain tires, Volk TE37 Rims, bullet proof body and glass. To top it off, I would install extra gas tacks on top and “HELLA” off road lights. With this bad boy, I could run things or zombies over.
GITV Blog: In a Zombie Apocalypse, or an end of the world situation, where would you go and why?
Marq: I would go home, to where I was born. It is the only place where I would feel somewhat safe. I know where every tool and necessity is located which will keep my family safe and alive.
