Bob “The Axe Man” Hildebrand

Bob “The Axe Man” Hildebrand is the goofiest guy in the marketing department at Airsoft GI. With him in the office, there are no boring moments. It is our blessing that Bob is actually an actor who has been on numerous commercials and a few TV shows. However, Bob feels extremely blessed because a lot of actors and actresses wait tables or work at other jobs that they do not like. Bob is fortunate enough to work at his dream job while pursuing his acting career. To show you what kind of person Bob really is, I have conducted an interview with Bob.

Airsoft GI $1200 Custom AEG?

When I received word that the techs were issued a challenge to build their dream gun, I knew that I had to do a special segment on at least one of their AEGs. There were 3 techs that entered the challenge and 3 incredible guns were built. Despite the price tag of $1200, all three guns are the best gun that money can buy. They are fully upgraded both internally and externally, and the quality parts are properly installed. These 3 guns remind me of me when I first entered the world of airsoft back in 2006. I spent so much money on my entire airsoft gun collection that I ended up living on the street (figuratively speaking). But it took me a lot of trials and errors to build the perfect gun.

KWA M226 P.T.P.

If you are hardcore Navy SEALs fans, Die Hard fans, or even just Sig Sauer fans in general, then you will most certainly appreciate the newly re-launched version of the M226 by KWA USA. KWA first released a full metal airsoft M226 back in 2007, but it was neither mass produced, nor made into much of a big deal at the time. It seemed that KWA actually did very little to promote the gun back in 2007, and as a result, very few people actually knew about its existence. Shortly after its initial release, the KWA M226 disappeared from the market for a while, that is, until about last week. Last week, I overheard the Airsoft GI purchasing department mentioning that the KWA M226 was back in stock, so I immediately went out to the warehouse and searched for this magnificent gas blow back pistol.

ICS M4 – Splitting It in Half

If you have been following the GITV Blog then you’ll know that I have just mentioned how the great company ICS has improved over the years. I have also mentioned that ICS is the original company that created a split gearbox design for their M4 AEG Series. Like I have said before, the public has a love-hate relationship with the split gearbox design. People who own it loved it and people who do not hate it. Well, this article is dedicated to admire the beauty of the ICS M4, and I am going to turn the gun inside out and show you how amazing this split gearbox design really is.

Galil – More Controllable AK Platform

When I first entered the world of airsoft, the brand ICS was not a popular brand. Back then, there were only a few guns that ICS produces, which were the M4 and the MP5 series AEGs. Their M4 was pretty interesting consider the fact it was the M4 with a split gear box design. The philosophy behind having a split gearbox; airsofters could change the spring easily if they desire to make the gun shoot a different FPS. The split gearbox design also makes changing out stripped piston fairly easily without extensive airsoft tech experience. From the beginning, the public opinion of ICS guns was very polarized. The guys who own it love them and the guys who didn’t hated them.

However, the company ICS listened to the suggestions the airsoft community gave back to them. They have been improving their quality ever since, and their new lines of M4 AEGs, AK, Galil, and MP5s are very solid. I am very impressed with the new line of AEGs, and the improvement ICS had made over the years. ICS has become one of the most reputable companies in the airsoft industry, and produces some of the most reliable, durable, performance, and unique airsoft guns in the airsoft market. Rifles such as the Galil and L85 are rare in the airsoft market.

ICS Galil – First Impression

When I first picked up the ICS Galil, it feels extremely solid and well built. The ICS Galil is quite light considering this gun is made with metal. The magazine resembles an AR-15 magazine with a little AK touch to it. The barrel is pretty long, 450mm; therefore the Galil is ideal for outdoor play. The rifle is comfortable when shouldered, bringing the sight right into my eye. The hand guard however, feels wobbly. Other than the hand guard, the ICS Galil exceeded my expectation on my first impression.
