WE Military and Police Pistols – Affortable and Reliable

I have been a firearm enthusiast since 2009 and very active on the range since then. I have tried and purchased numerous pistols, and found out that some handguns work better for me than others. My very first pistol was a Glock 22, which was chambered in .40 S&W, then my Kimber, and finally a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm Full size. As much as I like the Glock, I have to admit that the Smith & Wesson M&P is a much easier gun to shoot.

As I have mentioned in the VFC Fully Licensed M&PC article, the Smith & Wesson M&P hit the market in 2005 and in 2010, because of the publicity of the Magpul Dynamics DVD. Nearly every gun store in my area had sold out of M&P handguns. Eventually, I was able to pick up an M&P 9mm at my local gun store. After the 10 day waiting period, I finally picked it up and immediately took it to the range. Although the manufacturer stated the trigger pull is about 5.5 lbs to 6 lbs, which is same as the Glock, I noticed that the M&P has an easier trigger pull comparatively. As a Glock owner, I consider myself as a decent shot. Not many people like or are able to shoot Glocks efficiently.

Enough said about the real M&P, let’s check the WE Military and Police pistol out. First off, the WE Military and Police Pistol is a very budget friendly gas blow back pistol for you M&P fans out there. Just like the real M&P, the lower frame is constructed with high durable polymer. The back strap on the WE Military and Police Pistol can be changed, and WE included 6 different back straps for you to choose, 3 out of the 6 straps are pink. In the firearm industry, the Pink straps only come with the JG model. JG stands for Julie Goloski, the famous Champion shooter for Smith and Wesson. The pink back straps symbolize support for breast Cancer. If you buy the real M&P JG model, Smith & Wesson will donate a portion to a Breast Cancer Awareness Charity. I am not sure why WE would include the Pink Strap to their Military and Police Pistol, but ist sure a unique color and perfect for the ladies.

The WE Military and Police pistol comes in 2 different colors; all black and 2 tone. The 2 tone version comes with a tan lower frame and black upper slide. Just like the real Smith & Wesson M&P, it comes with a standard picatinny rail on the lower frame. Depending on the operator, different style of lights and lasers can be mounted on that picatinny rail. It also has an ambidextrous slide release and special slide release feature when inserting a new magazine.

Although the WE does not contain all the trademarks like the VFC model, nor do they use material as nice, WE has been providing the airsoft market with affordable yet solid performing Airsoft guns. The lower frame comes with a standard 1913 picatinny rail, perfect for lights or lasers. The trigger safety on the WE Military and Police Pistol is very similar to the real Smith & Wesson M&P. However, the feel of the trigger break and reset are far from similar to the real M&P. The VFC did a more consistent job of replicating the Trigger of the M&P. One of the cool thing about the trigger of the WE Military and Police Pistol is the fact that the operator can achieve an impressive rate of fire.

Unlike the VFC M&P, the WE Military and Police pistol does not have the full auto function, which is not a big deal. The Smith & Wesson M&P firearm counter part does not have the full auto function either. The WE Military and Police pistol features the fish scale like rear cocking serration. The fish scale like pattern increases the gripping friction in wet, oily, and slippery conditions. At the front of the slide, it is angled a certain way, allowing the operator to perform a press check without cocking serrations. The entire gun has a clean look, and the finish is matte black, with no shinny surface.

The field strip of this pistol is extremely similar to the real Smith & Wesson M&P. After unloading the pistol and removing the magazine, push the slide back to the rear position and rotate the front take down pin. The slide can be removed after pushing the slide forward. The outer barrel and the spring guide can be removed as well. Cleaning and maintaining this pistol is really simple, just like the real Smith & Wesson M&P series pistols.

The real fun part with the WE Military and Police Pistol is on the Range. Chronoed at average 330 to 350 feet per second, the WE Military and Police pistol is considered a hard hitter. When fire rapidly, the trigger is really responsive due to the weight of the trigger pull. However, WE pistols are not really consistence when it comes to the weight of the trigger pull. Therefore, it may be the gun I was shooting has a lighter trigger pull. I did have trouble trying to shoot fast due to the inconsistency reset of the trigger. However, with practice, you could potentially fire this pistol at an insane speed.

Overall, the WE Military and Police Pistol is a decent purchase. Affordable, durable, and reliable, this pistol is one to keep your eyes on.
